Job Summary:
The Underwriter plays a critical role in evaluating and analyzing loans financing Single Family Rental and Multifamily properties. The role requires a skilled and detailed oriented experienced underwriter of multifamily, Build-for-Rent and SFR portfolio properties. The primary responsibility is to assess the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and determine the risk associated with extending credit, as well as the ability to perform complex cash flow analysis and valuation of portfolio of real estate properties. The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting both SFR portfolios, construction loans and commercial real estate loan, assessing the creditworthiness of applicants, and ensuring that loan requests comply with our lending policies and regulatory requirements The analysis involves reviewing financial statements, credit reports, appraisals and other relevant documentation to make informed decisions on loan approvals, maintain continuity with the borrower from originations to closing, and assist in other special projects within credit operations and asset management as required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process and evaluate real estate lending transactions, including reviewing financial statements, credit reports, property appraisals and other property related due diligence.
- Assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants and make recommendations for approval.
- Ensure that loan requests adhere to our lending policies, regulatory guidelines, and risk management standards.
- Conduct thorough due diligence on potential borrowers and properties to identify any potential credit risks or issues and propose appropriate mitigating factors.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including origination, credit analysts, capital markets and senior management, to gather and review all necessary information for the underwriting process.
- Prepare comprehensive underwriting memos that clearly outline the findings, risk assessment, and recommendations for each loan application.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors for the review of property related due diligence.
- Ensure all required documentation is complete and accurate prior to submission for loan approval.
- Make informed and objective decisions regarding loan approvals, rejections, or modifications based on a comprehensive analysis of the borrower’s financial profile.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, market trends, and evolving risk factors.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate, lending, finance or a related field
- Proven experience in SFR and commercial real estate loan underwriting.
- Financial modeling experience in commercial, residential and/or multi-family real estate preferred
- Strong understanding of real estate-based lending and underwriting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of current lending policies and regulatory requirements.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

Job Summary:
The Loan Processor will oversee and facilitate the progression of all new deals throughout the entire loan life cycle, beginning with the kickoff of the loan. Acting as the primary point of contact for borrowers during the underwriting process, they will provide critical support to the underwriter, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from origination to loan closing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the entire loan process from deal kickoff through closing, ensuring all documentation and conditions are satisfied
- Act as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the underwriting phase, providing timely updates and addressing any questions or concerns
- Collaborate closely with underwriters to gather, review, and submit all necessary documentation for loan approval
- Order residential and commercial appraisals, secondary appraisal reviews, broker price opinions (BPOs), and flood certifications for Term and Bridge fundings
- Track status of appraisals and work with borrowers on inspections or questions from AMC and ensure the internal team is consistently informed on appraisals status
- Work closely with the originations, underwriting and funding teams to ensure a smooth experience for the borrowing team
- Ensure files are saved appropriately in loan operating system (LOS) and/or shared drives as required
- Collect and organize, deliver, and coordinate entity formation documents with legal and UW
- Monitor and track the progress of each loan, proactively addressing any delays or issues that arise during the process
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of loan processing procedures, helping to streamline operations and enhance customer satisfaction
- Update and maintain loan and property-level details in LOS

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years’ processing experience required.
